Scalise Taps Watkins To Join The USMCA Whip Team
Washington, D.C. – Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) selected Steve Watkins (R-KS) to join the whip team for the US-Mexico-Canada-Agreement (USMCA).
Congressman Steve Watkins issued the following statement:
“I am proud to join the whip team effort for USMCA. This free trade agreement is critical for American agricultural producers, manufacturers, and workers across the nation. In my home state of Kansas alone, annual exports to Canada and Mexico are worth $4.4 billion to our state’s economy. It is vital that Congress works in true bipartisan fashion to quickly pass USMCA.”
Minority Whip Steve Scalise issued the following statement:
“USMCA is a good deal for American innovators, manufacturers, and workers, and will drive economic growth for decades to come. As a leader on the Freshman Whip team, Rep. Watkins’ engagement and agricultural-state perspective is vital to our efforts to secure swift, bipartisan passage for this free trade agreement.”
