Rep. Watkins Introduces the Pro-LIFE Act
Washington, D.C.— Rep. Steve Watkins (KS-02) introduced H.R. 4800, The Prohibiting the Life-ending Industry of Fetal-organ Exchange Act or the “Pro-LIFE Act,” which would prohibit the sale of human fetal remains and ban the profitable transactions related to such materials. H.R. 4800 would close loopholes existing in current law that allow payments for fetal tissue under the guise of storage, transportation, and processing costs. Rep. Steve Watkins issued the following statement:
“The abortion industry’s ability to profit from the sale or exchange of aborted fetuses is a stain on our great nation. I am proud to stand against these immoral practices and fight to protect the unborn by introducing the Pro-LIFE Act. The Pro-LIFE Act would not only prohibit the sale of the remains of the unborn, but would close the loophole associated with transaction costs that allow the abortion industry to profit from this appalling practice. As I continue to represent Kansas’ Second Congressional District, I vow to always protect innocent life, be a voice for the voiceless, and continue to work on putting an end to the abortion industry.”
