Press Contact: Jim.Joice@mail.house.gov For Immediate Release: March 6, 2019 Congressman Watkins Leading The Charge To Bring ‘Born Alive Abortion Survivors Act’ To The House Floor Washington, DC. - Today, Congressman Steve Watkins (KS-02) made a motion on the House floor that would allow members of Congress to take an up-or-down vote on H.R. 962, the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

When the motion was rejected by House Democrats, Congressman Watkins issued the following statement:

“This legislation is a matter of protecting human dignity and should not be a controversial issue.  It amends Federal law so that in the case that a baby survives an abortion, the doctor must do everything in their power to give the baby medical care.  I will continue to work with my colleagues to bring this legislation to the House Floor for a vote.” Said Congressman Watkins.
