Washington, D.C. - Congressman Steve Watkins (KS-02) issued the following statement regarding his opposition to Nancy Pelosi serving as Speaker of the House:

"Today, I am proudly voting in opposition to Nancy Pelosi serving as Speaker of the House. As I crisscrossed Kansas’ Second Congressional District over the past year, there was a reoccurring theme among both Republicans and Democrats: they did not want to see Nancy Pelosi serving as Speaker of the House again. It is with them in mind that I cast the vote of ‘NO’, in opposition to Nancy Pelosi serving as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives."
