100 Days In Office – Rep. Watkins Working For You
Topeka, Kansas – April 13th marks the 100th day since Congressman Steve Watkins (KS-02) took the Oath of Office to represent Kansas’ Second Congressional district in the United States House of Representatives.
During his first 100 days Congressman Watkins has:
· Held 170 meetings with constituents in Kansas and DC
· Fielded 1,781 constituent calls
· Responded to 3,092 pieces of mail
· Average 366 miles of travel in Kansas each week
· Opened 60 pieces of casework on behalf of constituents
· Cosponsored more pieces of legislation (108) than any other Freshman Republican in Congress
· Introduced three pieces of legislation
· Had one piece of legislation signed into law
· Been in the Oval Office for the Presidential Signing of the Lands Package which included Congressman Watkins’ legislation protecting Fort. Scott
Congressman Watkins issued the following statement:
“The focus of my first 100 days is the same as it will be the next 100 days and beyond: fighting for main street America and the people of my district. It is the honor of the lifetime to represent the folks of Kansas’ Second Congressional district, I work tirelessly because I know they expect, and will accept, nothing less.”
